The Obituary of an officialdomA Poem by Shane Hogan Poetry
The masses have walked,
Where I now tread. It is not beyond my understanding how one, would have a trite character; amongst the thoughts of what was. I do not claim to be upright, When this world is upturned; I am dogmatic in the dogmatism, that all we know is of false and fleeting matters. I follow granite bodies welcoming me so hypnotically to a step, This is the bridge of questions domain; "If I pass the cross will phenomena remove my earth?", "Will all sense be ebbed away?". I pass bye, against all instincts. I discover a mind that is paranoid, that has feared the senseless, strong and progressive, I walk freely here. I see an effigy of what could have been a great leader but his story remains forgotten. Remembering the moral, even if thought by a frivolous figure, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"; I agree with all sincerity, no malice shadows my words. I sit at a pew and furnish my understanding of my situation; If I am the one of un-ecclesiastical values, then why am I the one who follows the message, while these people talk with mouthfuls of apple? I leave all else to encourage more malevolence than I, But I will speak in tongue for all, mortal or divine, *Nota Bene: Time will cease all nominal; you can not save yourself from what is to come.
