SentienceA Poem by Shane Hogan Poetry
Head whips frantically around
as danger screams from all directions. This instantaneous sweat of sheer unknown, trickles down my brow of worries. Adrenalin ingrains surrounding images like a knife hot from fear of death on my brain. Breath is idling in my lungs; "what is to come". The initial feeling stops as it started, the heartbeat pounding out rhythms of confusion. A deep breath in and the warm vibration of constant, soft and velvety, blanketing noise returns. I wipe what what remains of that moment from my brow. Grim reality hangs clouds of paranoid delusion above me, outlined at best by the silver cloud of isolation. So sit I in the silence of true knowledge which opens eyes but closes mouths in fear for the blameless vestals way. Dig to my bottom or fly to my top, but realize me as I emerge from my pillar. I am the vacuum in which new and old matter collides, exploding into the vagueness of life; Though if the sweetness of questions has soured your actions and in a box that curious cat is found long dead, then walk with me along parallel lines which keep hushed words inside your head.
