True writers!

Hello everyone! 

I'm writing this letter  today because of the substance abuse of stupidity by modern society. I find that as a collective, writers from all walks of life are the last remaining influences that can change this downward spiral of superficial attitudes. In every age it has been left to the humble writer to Gide his flock towards higher understanding, but never before had they, the advances of instant communications at their finger tips! If you are a true writer, from all that's great in good, I ask you to make a conscious decision to use your gifts to ensure our collective survival and the survival of the ability to pursue something creative and self fulfilling, by preaching the truth of how important it is to express ones true self! You are literally the fall or rise, the change or stalling in society ! Unite under the common admiration of the human ability to think and feel then express and enjoy its empathy! 

We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams! Would it not be our fault, since we have a choice in what we do? 

Join me by the desolate streams my friends and change it, breathe life into the stationary rooms and thus into the people! Shout out your thoughts, let others live in their interpretation!

The pen is mightier than the sword... I don't know who's quote that is, but I feel that it is true and that us, as writers, have the ability to influence for good or for bad. We are there to inspire, be creative, and motivate others or give the joy, all through our choice of words. Great letter to writers, I agree with you completely. As a young writer... I hope that one day I can have some impact on the creative magic this world has to offer.

Very true! When people ask me which poets/novelists they should look into; I always say the writers from the 'Beat Generation' in the 50's (Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, William Bourroughs). They were extremely ahead of their time, writing about subject matter that was REAL and RAW and PURE and INTELLECTUAL. They created the foundation for the counter-culture of the 60s... with the hippies looking to their poems, novels, and essays as sources of knowledge and wisdom. Writers have influenced our society in ways that are completely underestimated, if not altogether unacknowledged by non-writers. Writers everywhere need to embrace their talents, and speak up! Every voice is unique and deserves to be heard :)
