That Feeling

That Feeling

A Story by Shane

Story/Poem..only fighters and certain individuals will get this

You know that feeling?

Where 3 weeks before a fight, you get the letter

telling you where and when it's gonna happen

The feeling, the rush right there and then

while your coaches and masters laugh

and tell you, "Wait, wait, you'll get your chance"

That feeling,

training hard for 3 weeks straight,

non-stop pain, body and mind pushed to the limit,

but it feels so good

That feeling,

right before you step into the cage,

coaches and master whispering words of confidence,

pating your back,

and fellow fighters shouting your name,

or nickname.

Stepping into the ring,

powdered up,

taped and gloved up,

staring into your opponets eyes,

him staring back with cold,

lifeless eyes.

That feeling,

tapping gloves with your opponet,

and the ref saying.

Let's go...

That feeling of a fight,

the drive of battle,

unleashing all of your hate and rage

upon him,

your inner warrior breaking free, never giving in,

merciless, feeling no pain, brain overflowing with adrenaline..

That feeling of a win, your oppser lying on the ground,

bleeding and disgraced by you?

Well, I know that feeling.

And it feels amazing
