Machine Gun Starlight

Machine Gun Starlight

A Poem by Shane Rendon

Its black out
Not a star in the sky
So black
Thick black
So thick I could feel it
Darkness has 38ft.lb. of pressure
Pressing against my bare skin
Its February eighth
The day we loved
Remember
Under the dark sky
On February eighth
We created 38 ft.bl. of dark pressure
Not a star in the sky
So tonight I peppered the sky with a machine gun
Ripping little white holes in the black canvas
Letting light shine through
White light subtracts 58 ft.lb. of pressure
Just like May eighth
When you left
On may eight you left me
You took 58 ft.lb. of dark pressure with you
leaving -20 fl.lb. of pressure
This neaggative pressure brought tears to my eyes
But I can't stand the darkness
Your Darkness
I'll Create my own starlight
Machine gun be my witness
