Love like Winter

Snow dances in the wind

coating the world in blankets of white

a shiver of cold settles in 

and the shadow of darkness descends with the night

Shades of gray shift under layers of ice

as roaring waters are silenced below

Through the frost she emerges

silent as the grave

alerting her presence

is the silver shine in her eyes
