How Much She's Loved

How Much She's Loved

A Poem by Shaly Laevulins

Another long day comes to an end.

Her tired, achy bones crack underneath her sweater,

Just one size too big

A warm embrace blocks the chill that penetrates the foggy window

The room glows in the comforting light of the fireplace

as a couple enjoys a quiet moment in each other’s arms.

A gentle kiss still brings a flush of red to her cheeks,

even after all their years together.

He knows it’s the little things that reaffirm how much she’s loved.
