Be Surprised, Be Very SurprisedA Chapter by BodilessSoulThings are slowly shifting under Amy's feet.I need normal, like, urgently and this? Yeah, not normal.
"My face is plastered onto the wall. Every wall," I gawked, staring at the image of David and I "smooching".
"Well, I just wanted to make sure he'd see it," Stacey calmly stated. I slowly shook my head in disbelief.
"I'm quite sure he'll see it now. Good job, Stace," David said from behind me. I jumped slightly and turned to face him. He looked calm but... Nevermind.
I mouthed an apology and he shrugged it off.
"So! What now?" Sam asked as she approached our happy bunch with a pile of neon pink papers that matched the ones with my (and David's) picture on it, oh, and the phrase "Amy and David sittin' in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g". I mean... really. Are we in kindergarten?
"You," I growled, pointing a finger at her. Sam's eyes widened and she was quick to also point fingers- at Stacey.
"All her idea," she blurted before I could turn violent.
"Not all but mostly," Stacey boasted. I sighed in defeat. David took one glance at my face and laughed as if it was the most hysterical thing he'd seen in ages. Was I the only party here concerned about my name and partial face becoming an art gallery at school?

"First period?"
"Clear."
"Second period?"
"Clear."
"Third?" continued Stacey desperately during study hall.
"Sadly for you, happily for me: clear," I stated gleefully. she groaned.
"Do you have any classes with Kevin?" She asked, frustrated. I could laugh at how distressed she looked, even her curls were frizzing from this ordeal.
"Nope," I said with a satisfied grin, holding back giggles. Stacey dropped her head to the table with a bang.
"Fine, then lunch is the only opportunity," Stacey mumbled against the table's surface, deflated. I was barely hiding my content. I planned to bail out during lunch.
"Amy? Amy!" I heard with a sinking feeling.
Kevin.
Stacey's head immediately popped back up, the need for drama readable in her eager eyes.
Damn it, damn it, damn it.
"Yeah?" I barely managed to squeek as I slowly turned around to look at Kevin. My stomach and heart simultaniously sank when I caught sight of his face; He was both pissed and pained.
"He looks like a bloated pmsing grape," Stacey whispered with a snicker as she straightened up. I wanted to sink deep into the chair. I wanted to be that bunny that jumps back into the magician's hat and disappears.
"What the hell?" was all he said as he approached our table. So much for studying.
"Um..."
"What's wrong, Kevin? Don't like the gallery of love yours trully put up?" Stacey asked innocently.
"You did this?" Kevin snapped as he flashed the neon pink kissing advertisement.
"Yup. You're welcome," Stacey shot back. Whether to me or Kevin, or both of us, I wasn't entirely sure.
"Amy?" Kevin said, his eyes still glaring at Stacey.
"Mhmm?" I replied, very uneasy. I could totally see him throttling that paper and a few books at me after telling me to f**k off.
"I need to talk to you... alone," Kevin said, finally looking at me. Woah, intense stare.
"Uh... sure," I mumbled, pushing back my chair.
I half dragged myself through the maze of shelves as I followed Kevin. He came to a stop, finally, at an empty corner.
"Look, I'm sor-" I started but before I could even finish the apology, Kevin had grabbed me, pushed me against the shelves, and kissed me.
On the mouth...
Passionately...
...Oh my god.
I pushed against him, trying to free my lips from his as I sorta, kinda, screamed in his mouth from shock. Finally, after I had pounded on his chest like I would to King Kong, he let me breathe.
"Kevn, what the heck?!" I gasped, gulping up much needed oxygen.
"Amy, I love you," he blurted, also breathless.
