To Fall is to Let GoA Chapter by BodilessSoulChapter 1: Alice's suicide attempt. The air hummed around Alice as her bare feet lightly stepped onto the hard, uneven concrete brick of the building she stood atop of. The soles of her feet tingled, as did the rest of her body, with a sense of joy and expectation. Alice smiled slowly as she steadied herself, turning her back to the world, her face towards the beaming setting sun and let its rays trace her cheeks and closed eyelids. The light made a warm red beneath her lids, letting her favorite color spill into her eyes and gifting her with that passionate color as she planned to free herself. Alice spread out her arms, the light breeze causing her sleeves to flutter like white wings. Her golden hair teased her face and neck as it twirled around in the wind, playing happily with the free feeling of floating. She breathed in slowly and deeply, savoring the clear evening air, letting it cleanse her body of all the negativity that clung to her veins. She parted her lips slightly, exhaling with a sigh as she tried to calm her heart. It's frantic beating thumped loudly against her ribs, reminding her that no matter what she did, it would never be free from its cage. She could hear a frenzy form below her, in the street where she had planned to fall onto. Alice ignored it, the only thing that rang in her ears, and consumed her, was the idea of freedom. She yearned for it so badly, to be free from this world and its chains; to be free from her body and let her soul travel to the places it craved to go. Alice's dainty body ached so badly to tear off this skin that held her back, restrained her, and chained her to the life she loathed. "My farewell to thee, for now I shall be free," Alice quoted her own scrawled poem that lay peacefully in the pocket of her jeans, as she slowly leaned back into space. Gently at first, she fell through the air, letting the air pull at her. Then it became a fierce resistance as the air refused to let her fall, angry that she might think to leave. There was a agressive shout from below, most likely belonging to a male, as Alice continued to fall in what seemed like frozen space. Her heart was left somwhere between her and the roof and her mind felt at peace when she heard another shout. "She's heading straight for it!" A male voice shouted from below. "Someone, call 911!!" He yelled again, aggitation in his voice. It reminded her of Kee. Kee, she thought, unable to word her need for him. If anything, she'd miss his safe and warm embrace. She pictured his lovely face just as something hit her, quick and sharply. Kee, Alice thought again just as the red behind her eyelids vanished and everything went black.
