Dear Baby, You're All That I Need

A poem about a mother's affection for her baby. (ATTENTION: I'M NOT THE MOM)

 Wrapped up in my arms

So tiny, innocent and means no harm

Smooth skin, so new

Do you know how much I love you?

 

Eyes wide in amazement, taking it all in

So precious you are, who knew that I'd win

Such a wonderful prize?

So angelic, even when you cry

 

I just want to hold

This perfect little mold

Of me and my beloved.

It feels as if I have covet

An angel, so pure

 

But your hazel eyes, hair make me sure

That you are mine and rightfully so

How I wish you'd never grow

Never need to leave me behind

Forget me, put me out of your mind

 

My love for you, my baby

It would drive me crazy

If you ever disappeared

My heart would be seared

 

So strong, a mother's love

So easy and true, like a dove

No matter what happens, I'll always be

There for my dear baby

 

Your home is my arms

My home is your heart; I've been consumed by your charm

Sweet, sweet child

My love will never be mild

It roars like the sea in a storm

 

This has become the norm

Since I first laid eyes

On yours, when your lids did rise

 the beauty you hold caught me

By surprise and now my care for you is as strong, solid as a tree

 

Mother nature, I thank thee for giving me you

As I nuzzle and coo

Dazzled by you and enchanted

Lord, my wish has been granted

 

Dear baby of mine,

You are so divine

I've been consumed by greed

For your attention, you are all that I need
