Simplicity

Simplicity

A Poem by BodilessSoul
"

A memory of my mother when hatred wasn't everything to her.

"

It broke my heart, it healed my heart

When she glanced down at me

Her little girl and smiled

Her eyes so sincere

No ulterior motive to her joy

No hate leaking through the depths of her

Shallow eyes, so harsh the day before

A smile, that was all

A gleaming white smile, perfect teeth shining down

On me, like a beam

Of hope, a slither of peace for me

She loves me, my mind whispered

To my heart, so tightly bound by shackles of hate

They slowly fell with a "thunk"

And my heart beat wildly as she continued to

Smile

The image, that hope stays in my mind

A smile on my mother's face

One little memory of mine, worth a million others

If I were to forget everything else,

I wouldn't care

Just leave me that one simple still photo

Of her smile, a smile that was bestowed upon me

So simple

So simply mine.

I can really feel the intense joy assicoated with this particualr momement in your life. It seems like you had been waiting for a momement like that between you and your mother for a while. Over all strong write.
