Doubt

Doubt

A Poem by BodilessSoul

I didn't know

I didn't comprehend

What my thoughts could do

How they'd shatter

All we knew.

My head got so much in the way

Thoughts plagued my sight

I doubted your love

I doubted the way

You'd always say

You loved me

I doubted your words

The very escence of you

I doubted my heart

And gave way to my head

I should have seen the signs

But I was just so blind

And I doubted your hands

And the way they held me so close

I doubted your eyes

Which always shined

Just for me

I doubted your laughter

And also mine

I doubted my heart

And in turn broke yours

I didn't know

I didn't comprehend

What my thoughts could do

How they'd shatter

All we knew.

I destroyed our love

I destroyed what mattered!

And all was shattered

Into unrepairable peices

I could only stare at.

I destroyed your arms

And the shelter they provided

Destroyed the happiness you radiated

I should have known

I should have known

That I should not have doubted you.

I shattered all we built together

Our tower of trust was crushed

Your eyes were dull

My heart, it stopped.

I destroyed my love,

destroyed my heart

I destroyed us both.

I doubted myself

I doubted you.

Now no more.

I shattered our lives

And all we knew

I doubt we'll ever make it through.

Doubt can be a terrible thing to go through. It is so hard not to. Good poem!
