The Vanished NourishmentA Poem by BodilessSoulOnce so kind and gentle But for reasons unknown, Now brittle and cold. Where did you go? Where did you go? Your eyes, they had shined Like a thousand suns That fed me life and basked me in love And when it was night and I was so lost They guided me home. My two heavenly stars How they'd shined for me And lead me home to you! Where did they go? Where did they go? Your roses, my lovely treasures Bloomed in the spring But slowly wither in the winter Is this your winter? You were once so gentle, A rose with hardly any thorns But now you've withered away! Yet it's still the middle of May! How'd you wither, How'd you leave? Your smiles were beams of hope That encouraged my leaves to grow From the shy roots I had become But the smiles have vanished And snow has covered my growing flower. Halting my progress to become The woman I wanted to be For myself and For you. Where'd you go? Where'd you go? Your roses, my lovely treasures Bloomed in the spring But slowly wither in the winter Is this your winter? You were once so gentle, A rose with barely any thorns But now you've withered away! Yet it's still the middle of May! How'd you wither, How'd you leave? Withered, so withered Brittle and cold... You were once so gentle A rose with barely any thorns Where did the rose go? My suns? Your love? Where did spring go? Where did - Where did you go? © 2009 BodilessSoulAuthor's Note
