Battle of the Light and Dark

Battle of the Light and Dark

A Poem by Naraya S

When my mouth aches with speaking and smiling,

And my hands ache with feelings and my writing of them.

When my body wants to lie still,

In silence,

Yet the dancing demons beckon me into their tunnels,

I fall into the dark,

Down down in,

Passed pinpricks of goldbright,

Passed the angels of harmony,

In the bearing of sang-froid.

For when the creeping whisperers

Drown my significance with their force,

I do the only thing I can do

Cocooned in the darkness,

Embrace their voices

Back into the light.
