So this is love?

So this is love?

A Poem by Shalena Taylor
"

Or is it?

"

Roses are red,
violets are blue,
I will be,
forever true.

Kiss my hand,
kiss my lips,
place your hands,
upon my hips.

Say I love you,
break my heart,
that's game over,
back to start.

Another game,
in a lovers world,
last night we loved,
today we quarreled.

I love you now,
and always will,
but your words,
are enough to kill.

Powerless in your gaze,
defenseless at your touch,
all the love I have,
does not seem like much.

I've been here before,
lost and alone,
each love and romance,
has it's own tone.

Pull me out of this,
burning hell I'm in,
and pull me right back,
as we live in sin.

I will not take,
one more painful remark,
about your ex,
who broke your heart.

I'm not her,
I will always be here,
I love you forever,
you know that dear.

My heart is broken,
taped together by pity,
won't you join me,
in this lonely city?

Hold me close,
count 1,2,3,
say my name,
and set me free.

Chocolate and flowers,
are awfully nice,
but you have made,
my heart like ice.

So, one last time,
I follow you there,
maybe you'll put me out,
of this life in despair.
