Martini of Pain

Martini of Pain

A Poem by Shalena Taylor

"No"

"Please?"

"Why?"

"Just because"

"Not good enough"

"Sorry"

"For what?"

"For this" *click*

In mental anguish, I cry out, unable to tolerate the deep pain that penetrates my mind and controls my every thought.
Did you love me,
do you love me,
will you love me?
One of the many blocks that will build your life,
I am the one to tip the tower.
Blue,
red,
pink,
green.
Mirrors and glass.
Blend,
Blend,
Serve.
Sip,
gulp,
swallow.
One,
two,
three,
bartender hit me again.
One more good cry,
I'll be fine.
It will be ok soon.
Than maybe I won't have to order another
Martini of Pain.
