Fire Within

Fire Within

A Poem by Shalaika G.
"

I've received quite a few comments from close friends and almost lovers about my "cold" being. I personally think it's just a protective front when truly on the inside it's not true at all.

"
I'm an open soul
I may be numb and sour
you dig deep into the warmth that lies underneath the mantle
deep down into the burning passion that sizzles in my heart
the sparks of fire that unravels to its explosion

Icy shell
burning core

I can understand where you're coming from because I'm sort of the same way. No one likes being hurt and being hurt one too many times cause us to build up a wall to protect us from. This poem says a lot and truth in volume.
