Poetic Justice

Poetic Justice

A Poem by Shakita Slater

Let me tell you something, baby
I'm it.
That's it.
I'm not conceited, but I know with certainty
you won't find anyone like me again.
I'm real.
I'm all woman
you know? The one with class
I'll make you laugh and cry.
I'll know when to push your buttons and when to keep my mouth shut.
I'll fight your sins, so you can love yourself.
And you know what?
I think that scares the hell out of you
because no one's seen you,
and no one will see you like I do
I want to be the girl of your dreams.
If you be the man I knew I needed.
You stitched my heart,
mending it enough to beat for you...
even if not you,
it would be temporary.
