Designing My Dream City

once again...another essay i wrote for school. this might be on here already...can't remember if i've posted it yet. lol

        Hello! My name is Amber Portrait, and I am here because I was hired to design a new city. Now you're probably thinking, "How can one person design an ENTIRE city all by themselves?" Well, I just want to reassure you with the fact that I am a trained professional in my field of work. I have many plans in store for this new, up-coming city. Things such as swimming pools on every block, ice cream shops on every corner, grass that is bouncy, and bushes made out of cotton candy! Can you imagine an entire town made entirely out of candy? How awesome would that be? Oh, and by the way, I majored in fun and imagination!

          First, my town will be built near Hawaii. Since Hawaii is clear out in the middle of nowhere, we will first have to build another island. The island will be called Humahumanukanukaapuaa. For those of you who don't know, that just so happens to be Hawaii's State fish! Anyway, the island won't be too big, but big enough for a city, ten malls, six amusement parks, four water parks, and a gigantic soccer stadium. Why not add a Wal-Mart? It will be the first Wal-Mart near Hawaii! We can't forget the ABC stores that are famous in Hawaii! When I was there two weeks ago, there was an ABC store on at least every single corner! It was amazing! Of course, we might have to import some palm trees and other various plants.

        Like I said before, the grass will be bouncy and multicolored! The roads will be in the sky, not on the ground, therefor making the cars' hovercraft cars. (I've always wanted one of those!) If you do decide to travel on the ground, the type of transportation you will use is a Segway. Those things are so cool! Everybody will have the chance of an education, due to the fact that there will be 6 different school; four elementary schools; two high schools; and one college. There will be no tuition for any of the schools. The schools will be painted various colors, whatever the teachers choose. On the playgrounds, there will be small huts with gaming systems inside.

        The malls there will be four stories high. The water parks will have every water ride you can think of! Same with the amusement parks! There would be zoos for the families and movie theaters too! For recreational purposes, there will be a gigantic sports park big enough for plenty of games to take place all at the same time. Everybody's house will be at least 3 stories and will contain 4 bathrooms, 7 bedrooms, and 3 kitchens. Each house will be equipped with new, the state of the art technology, including a robot that does all the household chores for you. Robots will basically be running the town. I mean, you'll be able to hire city council members and such, but the robots will do all the working. You really won't have to worry about a thing, not even money! We'll even plant our newly discovered trees that grow money!

         Say one night you're craving Chinese, the next day you want Mexican, and the next day you want some plain old American food. Well, that's okay because every restaurant imaginable will be located in the heart of the city! Subway, Arby's, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Habenero's, Brass Plumb, Taco Johns, and A & W will all be there too! Now I know you haven't heard of places like Brass Plumb or Habenero's, but those are a must have if I'm the one designing this city. Those are some of the food places in my hometown of Worland, Wyoming.

        If you like art and history, there will be a huge museum filled with the artwork of Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, and other famous painters. That will be on the west wing of the premises. On the east wing of the building, there will be a hands-on activity center for both adults and children. You can learn how to make the perfect paper airplane while at the same time learning about aerodynamics. Or, you can put a skeleton together while learning about the human body. This part of the building will make learning fun!

        That brings me to a conclusion. This town will indeed be the word on the street! It will probably end up being one of the worlds most famous tourist attractions! I mean come one! What other city has bouncy grass and hover cars? I hope that you can envision this place the same way I do and you can help make this city possible!
