Phoenix of the Earth

Phoenix of the Earth

A Poem by Shaibelle
"

Crying to the phoenix of the earth...

"

Flames of gold that fill the sky

Amber lights of things passed by

Adrift in heaven these things do fly

Sunlit flares that rise to fall from high…

Phoenix of the earth, please nightly try

To rid mankind’s bedarkened sigh

To bring us home, this night we pray

Home again, forever, to this day

Sunlit shivers across shattered lies

Wings of tempest ever burning upon high

Wonders from heaven don’t just die

You are the phoenix of earth’s long cries

Home again, please bring us, to the morrow

Forgive us please our shadowed hollows

Forgetting death from ancient sorrows

Burn the night-lights from your wake

Phoenix of the earth- you are

The flames of gold that fill the sky

Amber lights of things passed by

Adrift in heaven we’ve seen you fly

Your sunlit flares that rise to fall from high.
