Shadow

Some people say you can't rely on anyone but yourself,

Some people say,"no, trust is to be earned."

Though, 

What they don't realize is that your shadow is always there.

You may not see it, you may not even notice,

But he is there. 

He is with you through it all. 

He keeps you grounded and in control.

Your Shadow,

Is ALWAYS one step behind you in everything you do.

This is another nice pithy free verse that makes the reader think. For shaddow read conscience. One gramatical error I think? :
'Some people say no trust is to be earned' Should there be a 'no' in this line?

A interesting poem. Many poems about the shadow. I like the flow of thoughts and the way you set-up the ending. I do believe trust must be gained. We do need support and kind friends to know peace. The shadow is a good topic for thoughts and wonder. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
