Alone

Alone

A Poem by Harry Mora
"

Sometimes the things you think about are worse than the solitude

"
Empty, in my memories
A long forgotten song dances in misery
Around my soul
Empty, like the space between us
Like the sum of all our planned dreams, cold

I wish that I could be the one
The one, that doesn't care
But I'm betrayed by my empty stare

How two vibrant hearts could change
And leave each other empty
I drained my heart to set you free

I couldn't trap you in this darkened room
Where I had sung in sorrow for so long
Now I'm destroyed by an unwanted freedom
That we'd both wanted all along

My whole life's become this dark room, empty
Bereft of all feeling
Except for that small strand of despair
