Numb

Numb

A Poem by Harry Mora
"

Doing the write thing in a relationship can be so painful

"
I turned in pain, disgrace.
As the emptiness filled my once full heart.
I awoke from this sweet dream,
And felt the warmth fading from my memory.

I float as you feel, made this way.
By the words you couldn't unsay.
Betrayed by the selfishness that escaped me.

What's hurting you, kills me.
The years of my once caged heart, I betrayed.
To repent I set you free.
And returned myself to this dark empty.

I walk a lonely road.
Endless, weightless, fateless I'll adore you.
I gave my heart to you.
Now I wrap it in cold.

I'd come here by day.
I left there in darkness.
As I lost you on the way.

But it's the only road I've ever known.
