As is my wont
My nightly custom
In the early hours of morn
When the world is all quiet
And mostly asleep.
I stood silently neath the dark sky
Seeking communion with my Golden One
My heart my spirit on the Otherside.
On this peaceful night
All within the same view
Sat Lady Moon so full so bright
Orion the mighty Hunter
And the red pulsing Betelgeuse
Oh what a glorious sight!
But then did I notice
The black figure of a bird
Sail across Her face.
Lady Raven Spirit
Lady Raven Spirit
A friend so dear
A friend so true
Was it you who flew?
Was it your spirit from the Otherside
Winging past to deliver the message I sought?
Or was it simply
To wish me Peace?
Oh what a marvelous photo to accompany this excellent verse! It was her, I would guess, her soul spirit flying free, soaring on the breezes of the night ;-)
One of the most beautiful poems that I have had the pleasure of sharing.
Such warm sensitivity....I may write better poetry after reading this....
at least I will try. this is now my favorite work. My poetic muse has been
Emily Dickinson for sixty years when her poety told me to write as you
just have....thank you...sam
Your verse becomes more enchanting daily. It really is good.......it is authentic, and so early. Yes, that night at that time, I flew across the moon my friend, you were very close. I LOVE the picture.
An "old man", not by choice in the sense of years since I am five years older than dirt and two years older than baseball. Age is simply a state of mind and that being the case then my mind tells me I.. more..
