A Wolf's Tears

A Wolf's Tears

A Poem by ShadowWolf

"
A Wolfs Tears

Each night his eyes search the dark heavens.
Often clear skies allow the vision.
At times Mother Nature hides the view
Yet sight or no, the knowledge that you are there comforts.

Orion, Orion, at your shoulder he sits.
Betelgeuse
Oh how you glow! So red and bright!
Shining down the warmth of your love that fills the heart.
Still deep within the wolfs spirit the pain resides.

Oft times there is communion,
Your young words of wisdom,
Your biting humor so missed,
But most of that glowing smile.

Oft times there is silence,
Tis then longing grows,
Tis then the wolfs tears flow.

The reader can feel it - the ache, the longing. The emotion is palpable, so much so that it leaves one with a tinge of sadness that lingers long after finishing reading this extraordinary poem. Heartfelt and moving. I really enjoyed reading this poem.

Sad, beautiful words. Sad, beautiful emotions set to words.

Oft times there is communion,
Your young words of wisdom,
Your biting humor so missed,
But most of that glowing smile.

Oft times there is silence,
Tis then longing grows,
Tis then the wolf's tears flow.

What can I say to those lines? Best whisper a prayer.

thank you for appreciating my pain, it truly is a balm. Now I better
understand the meaning of this heartfelt poem and sharing your
grief helps me to look outward instead of making my own pain
worse by driving it inward. May you have more moments of respite.

The title drew me in and I found such a beautiful vision through your minds eye. Well written and beautifully put.

it makes me think of lost ones...
and of how they are suppose to be looking down at us
i guess its true that we look up, trying to find them too

a sad and touching piece...

"Orion, Orion, at your shoulder he sits"

I love this. It is gorgeous even in its painfulness. "A Wolf's Tears," A perfect title as well.

Excellent writing, my friend!

Many wolves spend every clear night sharing visions of the star-filled sky.
I could tell from your heartfelt poem that you do likewise. You speak well
for the (other) wolves and your poem reminds us of the beauty of the universe.

Thank you for the considerate review. memories get much clearer in our
later years...something everyone can look forward to....sam

An "old man", not by choice in the sense of years since I am five years older than dirt and two years older than baseball. Age is simply a state of mind and that being the case then my mind tells me I.. more..
