Mother Earth

Poem written for a Poetry Circle challenge based on the following picture by Jonathon Earl Bowser:

Mother Earth


From her hands life's blood flows
The Mother of all life knows
All the animals are of her Earth
Nurtured from their very birth
And when they die once again
They return to their Mother's den
Within the Earth, the very source
Of life's ever burning force
To be taken within her loving arms
Her embrace comforts and warms
All her children born of Earth
For in death there is rebirth
