I try to help

To be your friend

To do the best I can

To ease the sadness and the pain

And give you hope again

 

I try to fight

To help you through

To make the shadows leave

To allow the light to touch your soul

And give you something to believe

 

I try to say

To let you know

To tell you I'll be there

To offer you the strength you need

And give you my support and care

 

I try to reach

To earn your trust

To open up the door

To make you smile and feel free

And give you happiness and more

 

I try so hard

To be your friend

If you'll just let me through

I try so hard and I won't stop

No matter what you do...

Stop trying, it doesn't sound like he is worth it :~) sorry my friend I just couldn't stop myself.
Great format, the repetitive lines are structured so they give your poem character and depth. I can see why no one has commented on this poem, it is so well written it is a little intimidating :~)
