Disposable Friend

 

It seems to me our time is done and now I must move on

It seems to me the bond we shared is now all but gone…

I once thought our friendship was strong enough to last

I once thought we’d stay friends when your need was past

But now I wonder if I was wrong to think that it could be

But now I wonder if you were truly a real friend to me…

 

It seems to me I was only there to help you when you needed

It seems to me that we are done now that I’ve succeeded…

I once thought I meant more to you than it appears I do

I once thought I’d always be a special friend to you

But now I wonder if this is where what we had must end

But now I wonder if I was simply your disposable friend…

It definitely portrays the emotional conflict that the character has faced alongside the betrayal. The tone is also very sorrowful which ties it up all together. Great job in writing it.
