On Butterfly WingsA Poem by ShadowWhysperWritten for a Poetry Circle challenge to the follow picture ('The Gathering' by Mitch Zorich):On Butterfly Wings The leader waits perched up high Followers approaching from the sky A pleasure to behold such a sight In this world covered with white Wings of colour float on air Warmth in a world of despair The snow melts on the perch you see The ground glows where butterflies be Gathering here for a reason They bring about the change of a season Winter’s blanket cast aside The light of Spring shall not hide Gliding in on butterfly wings All the warmth that it brings Shall give new life to this land A sight so wondrous and grand In all its glory, breath it takes As, from its slumber, nature wakes Shadow Whysper © 2015 ShadowWhysperReviews
