The Meadow

The Meadow

A Poem by ShadowWhysper

The grass bends to the will of the gentle breeze

The sun warms the land, for there are no trees

Here, years ago, the children would play

Now they’ve grown and moved away

No more laughter and shouts of glee

Just peacefulness in this vast green sea

Will the meadow remain like this

Holding memories of childhood bliss

Or will machines come tear up this land

Where fun and nature once ran hand in hand

Will cement replace the soil of Earth

Has nature lost its sense of worth

Do people see not nature as a gift

To give the human spirit a lift

Please leave the meadow as it lies

A home for bunnies and butterflies

The poem contains an important message about us conserving our local parks and the other meadows as such because they too form an important part of this land. They don't deserve to be torn down.
Your poem contained a strong message. Well done.
