Don't Thank Me, Thank You

Don't Thank Me, Thank You

A Poem by ShadowWhysper

I know you say you should thank me more

For everything I do

To that you will often hear my say

“Don’t thank me, thank you”

I do for you, you do for me

We help each other out

And though it is not often said

Our love is not in doubt

I can’t begin to list the things

I get from you my friend

And though I think you give me more

Perhaps we balance in the end

And if I said I should thank you more

For everything you do

I have a feeling I would often hear you say

“Don’t thank me, thank you”

So let’s agree to disagree

When we give each other thanks

Knowing that we each do something

To balance out the ranks

Thank you my friend for being there

I’m glad I can be here for you too

And though it is not often said

Know that I never doubt your love

And that I love you too
