The Fallen FlowersA Poem by ShadowWarrior23I am in love with the military and one day I was told to make a poem so I did this one. It was my first and even brought tears to my teacher. I don't know how but this is my poem, one I connected withThe shots echoed through the crisp morning like cracks of thunder in the night The flowers littered the battlefield ahead I had been one of them; One of the flowers that would never see the sun shine another day Bullets made us look like Swiss cheese and our weapons dug into the bloody grass. Cheers of our forces were heard of our victory. We had won. But they did not see the flowers. They did not forget about us. Flowers littered on the battlefield I had been one of them One of the flowers that would never see the sun shine another day The blood seemed to be our water in this sad desert But our victory had filled us with happiness Cries of our families could hear miles away To our flowered field The stars and stripes were the Guardian Angels four loved ones We did not go down without a fight And we did not go down without a fight. Do not weep for us. For the flowers show you that you are protected and will be protected. Do not weep for us, Because we have seen the sun once more. We have done our duty. © 2017 ShadowWarrior23 |
