Light

I like the time of day
When the sun is brighter than any other
And the light that shines in my window
Warms the air and gives new life
It gives me a hopeful feeling
To sit and stare at that single telephone wire
Dividing the infinite blue
But these times are few
When the light is just right
To remind me of a time
In a different room
So long ago it seems
When hope wasn't lacking
And I always took that light for granted
