Drowned

Drowned

A Poem by Catherine Parks
"

Drowned in my words.

"
The words flow from my pen,
Fluid, pure and clear,
Creating a melody whispering to my ears.

The weight is lifted from my shoulders, pound by pound,
As the words continue dripping, without a sound.

This water now is rising fast,
The time I have, it will not last.

Write and write, ill never stop,
Submerged in this water,
It is all I've got.

The water is over my head,
But i wont stop till I'm dead.

Its quiet now.
With water all around.
The pen hits the ground.
I have Drowned.

I like the way you compare writing to a compulsion, a need to explore and express and to try to understand the life and world around us. Great writing!
