Waking up to say Goodbye

Waking up to say Goodbye

A Poem by Catherine Parks
"

This poem is about some of my reoccurring dreams.

"
She lays down her head, and she closes her eyes.
Her heart is still hallow from saying goodbyes.

She drifts off again to a world unforeseen,
Where she will meet once again that boy from her dreams.
Its the same every night but what does it mean?

She used to sing with the flowers and dance with the birds,
Speaking so clearly without any words.
The sun weaved through her hair and shone in her eyes,
Now she is waking up to say goodbye.

The same every night, he turns away.
Her words are broken with so much to say.
She finally manages the small question, "Why?"
He returns to her with the simple, "Goodbye."

Forgetting the night and greeting tomorrow,
She mourns the loss with heavy sorrow.
Because that wonderland where she used to go,
Has been replaced by a boy she'll never know.

This is fantastic, it makes the reader (or me at least) as if they're in the world.
