Chapter Eight - Present (Alex's POV)A Chapter by ShadowHaze
“Your plan is working, my Lord,” I said. I glanced again with glee at the boy running to save Alex. Hah... Like he could
“Of course it is,” said a harsh voice from the corner. “You shouldn’t sound so surprised.”
“I’m sorry, my Lord, I should have never doubted you. I didn’t believe that they’d… We’d… be so close,” I said, bowing.
“I know, but soon both of them will die, and you will be granted a great privilege. After their deaths, my path will be free. If they hadn’t met in the first place, I might have not needed to go to the extremes, and destroy them both. But,” the person in the shadows grinned, “I most likely would have still killed them both anyways. This way’s much easier.”
“Of course, my Lord.” I said, smiling with relish at the thought of my Lord winning control over everything. I gasped suddenly and grabbed the railing.
“She’s fighting again, my Lord.” I growled.
“Deal with her.”
I lashed out with my mind at the conciseness attacking me. The attacks weakened, stuttered, and then faltered.
“The boy is almost here,” my Lord whispered, and stepped into the light. Long blonde hair flowed down her back, and the black eyes sparkled in the dim light. Her eyes had a dark, cold look, like never ending tunnels. A long tattoo, a pattern of moons glowing red, ran down the side of her neck, and I knew it also circled her arm, stopping at the tip of her thumb. Her lips were rosy, but thin, and her cheeks were the only other thing that had color on her face. Her eyebrows were thin, transparent and she had a looped piercing on her left eyebrow.
“My Lord, how do you plan to kill them?” My lips curled into an evil smile.
“Hmm… The girl first. I’ll make the boy suffer before I torture him. A slow painful death should insure that I get all the power from them that I need.” She said in a voice that held no remorse.
Just then I felt a heavy blow to my mind, and I disappeared as the real Alex gained control over her body. Before I evaporated into nothingness, I felt a strong determination in the soul of the real Alex, and something else that made me cringe away in fright.
“That would be the best way, my Lord,” the real Alex said, silently developing a plan to save Chris and her both before the woman’s plan could take action.
