New Years Eve

New Years Eve

A Poem by Tim Smith

The end, a new start?
A new life, or new strife?
So much not knowing
I feel the doubt flowing

In my love, in my life
This heart starts to die
Brought back again
To decay to sand

Happy then sad
Grateful then spiteful
So much shifting
Why is it all contridicting?

When you love,you love
When you hate, you hate
Why cant I stick to either?
Why are my emotions deranged?

A simple act can throw me off
From a simple hug, to a kiss for good luck
I am not jealous dont get me wrong
But sometimes I love her, sometimes want gone

This life with her, this new years eve
Should be our new start I beleive
But in the back of my mind beware
The swirling black doubt
