In My Shoes

In My Shoes

A Poem by Tim Smith
"

My way of describing how I lost myself and found myself.

"
For the longest time my eyes were blind
Perspectives blended in space and time
For the longest time I wanted to see
The world for what it was, I had lost me

A few to many pairs of shoes put on
A few to many not removed
In time I forgot to put mine back on at all
I lost my way in the eyes of many

While wondering lost with knowledge obtained
Walking through the streets of today
Low and behold a shoe string of old
I found one of my shoes all alone

Upon walking further, with my shoe on
After I took off the other
I realized I am able to wear both shoes
My own and the worlds together

Multiple ways to walk this earth
I took the threads of the other laces
Made a new, bought me some new shoes
Laced the world through and through

Walking in the foundation of me
Laced up in lessons learned
With the wisdom of walking in many
The world is in my shoes
