Price for PeaceA Poem by Tim SmithMy views on inner peaceSomeone save me, set me free. Before the wants are all I need. Before love is beyond me. Before a companion I stop seeking. Call my name, save me now. Hold me close and don’t let go. God only knows the darkness I know. Only A matter of time till I let go. The darkness so inviting, the light has become foreboding. The numbness cured by want, my old ways. Looking back now, what is good? what s evil? Looking back I miss those days. The silent observer, driven by curiosity. By all that I want that moment, was all that I need. Times running out, save me now. Those old ways were a heaven to this hell. Numbness or love? Pure dark or pure light? Time will tell which wins this fight. I want peace. I see the way. I must give in to night or day. I don’t belong to both. We all must pick a side. There is nothing wrong with peace. No matter which side you confide. The price of peace means casting away. The moon at night, or sun of day. Ways of the world, conflict on high. Made me so feel alive to live for my side.
