The Call

The Call

A Poem by Tim Smith
"

When you start trying to place yourself in their eyes you lose parts of you you'll never get back. Or rather probably never will.

"
The shadows keep calling me home
Back to the place I disowned
Back to the forbiddon roads
I long to walk once more

This faith i've found
A faith misplaced?
Within this light
I feel i've lost my face

Among the shadows of the forest I shine
Within the light I blend in so well
I find myself asking myself
Would I rather burn in hell?

The shadows keep calling me home
Back to the place I disowned
Back to the forbiddon roads
I long to walk once more

I walked with god, I walked with the devil
I long to walk without either
Neither on my shoulder, nor in my heart
I want to live a life without

Caught within the secret groves
Where the good and bad in me shows
Im not of the devil nor am I of god
I feel I'm betraying myself with this facade

The shadows keep calling me home
Back to the place I disowned
Back to the forbiddon roads
I long to walk once more

Who am I? Who was I?
When did I change just to survive?
Where did the truth turn to lie?
Im destined to burn, one day alive

Will I answer the shadows call?
Will i stay in the light till I am scared?
In my heart i know its not me.
So why then do I fight to beleive?

The call still sounds forever more
Never can I close this door
Forgotton me, Forsaken me
The shadows will always call to me
