Strokes of Secrecy

Strokes of Secrecy

A Poem by Sarah Rose
"

We've all been there

"

Paint my portrait with forbidden pleasure,

Chill me with the ice beneath you eyes

Tease me with your secret thoughts in whispers

Torture me with all your perfect lies

Say my name while thinking of another

Mark me with the scent of your desire

Ask me anything and I'll surrender

Turn our spark into a raging fire

Make believe that you don't see me blushing

And I'll pretend I'm not weak at the knees

Speak to me with such polite indifference

Leave me trembling with unspoken need

Every time you go, you leave me crying

Wishing truth into the things we've said

Return to thoughts of your unfeeling lover

While, wracked with guilt, I face an empty bed.

I haven't used structure in a long time, but this poem reeks of it. Is it too much?

About
I'm not the best writer. Most of my pieces are scattered thoughts that I weaved together into something even a little bit comprehensible. My "forte" is poetry, although lately I've been boycotting rhy.. more..
