Learn to Fly

Learn to Fly

A Poem by Sarah Rose
"

Well, then.

"
Soaring high, so far above me,
Your halo shining strong
Down here the tears flow for I know
I will never belong.

That golden shining light of yours
Begins to lose its shine
The feathers falling off your wings,
You're running out of time

Just when I'd thought you'd fallen
Thought you'd be here to stay
Your halo and wings appeared again
You left me, flew away

So I climb as high as I can reach
Not much else I can do
And launch myself into the air
Hoping to fly with you

Stop being awesome, I'm jealous. D:

No, really Sarah... this is amazing. This is my favorite of yours I've read so far. I... it's so literal and so symbolic at the same time, it's like a poem that tells two stories at once: a fairytale and a real story. I just adore this. It's one of THE best poems I have read on this website, I believe.

Just epic.

About
I'm not the best writer. Most of my pieces are scattered thoughts that I weaved together into something even a little bit comprehensible. My "forte" is poetry, although lately I've been boycotting rhy.. more..
