Tryin to catch your heart(A fool's pursuit)

Tryin to catch your heart(A fool's pursuit)

A Poem by Shadow

I awoke on my stone slab of a bed my body aching from the nights slumber my heart aching from her deprivation when suddenly I saw her shining in the sky and I knew I had to own her not to cage her but to know that my love made her shine that much brighter

As she began to fall I ran like a man possessed to keep pace never once thinking of my safety

I entered a sublime clearing of green skies and cherry red trees surrounded by waving grass that was high and faltered my pursuit others entered the clearing chasing the object of my affection

The light from my beloved shined upon me as though she looked upon this lowly mortal trying to win her heart and the grasses parted clearing my path and entangling the would be suitors

It was then that knew my beloved truly loved me and wanted to be caught not just by anyone but me and only me.

I ran and ran as my angel came closer to the ground if it killed me i wouldn't let her splendor touch the soil

We approached a cliff with the blackest water at the bottom I knew the water would engulf her light and it would be gone forever

I leapt with arms outstretched and caught hold of my hearts desire and suddenly we were ascending again high into the heavens

Never to touch the ground again as the sky lit up like a million candles and for the first time in years I tasted pure sunshine just as my heart felt it's fullest my beloved laughed and dropped me into the blackest water engulfing my soul and she returned to her perch high in the heavens to await the next days fool

This was so powerful, so passionate and deep. You capture a sense of the grandeur of ancient legends mixed with a feel of timeless love. What an amazing piece. I can only wish there was more.

Wow, sad and beautiful at the same time. The unfortunate thing with love is you leave yourself vulnerable to experiences it's fullness. You can look at it two ways, It is better to have loved and lost. Or next time, let that chick fall in the deep dark ocean and lose her freakin light. hahaha. just playin. But anyway. I loved this poem. I felt every word of it.

Dang! I'm diggin' this piece b/c we've all been like that. Someone just captures our imagination, heart, time, thought process....

then, to make it real, slap you in the face with reality. There's a longing there that doesn't seem so shocked at the fact that she engulfed you and just left you there. Women have that affect, mos def.

Nice, nice scribe man.
