Instructions For A Life Worth Living Twice

Instructions For A Life Worth Living Twice

A Poem by Evangeline Allyson Monroe
"

I wrote this at 11:30 at night after a frightful panic attack... I just wrote what I felt and hoped it rhymed well.

"
How many times
Have I laid down at night?
How many days
Have I not been contrite?
Losing a little life
With every rising of the sun and falling of the moon,
Yet, I still sing this song
Way out of tune.
But listen up
And hear my words;
Lock 'em up
Like caged birds.
Hold on to life,
Don't let it fall through your hands
Like cascading water
Or plentiful sands.
Live this life,
Don't let it go;
You don't always have to be happy,
But be joyous and let it show.
Don't be a wallflower,
And sit on the side
Or be washed away
By the ever strengthening tide.
Love yourself always,
Love what you see,
Because there's no one else
That you should be.
