TogetherA Poem by Evangeline Allyson MonroeJust like my poem Two, you need to read the words down the left side either after or before you read the poem as a whole and the title is the first word of the poem.
forever
is what I was told. Forever, forever, never apart, forever, forever, you'll be with me. Cheesey, yes, but I was sure forever meant forever. Now, I really know what that word, forever, means. It is not forever, a love everlasting, able to move a mountain, withstand a natural disaster, even Death. No, Not for ever. For ever is an eternity. Forever is really just a synonym for never. Never have I loved you, never ever. Never have I wanted you, never ever. Never have I cared for you, never ever. Never have I wanted this, never ever. It hurts, pierces. never is hopeless so ever is its compliment, encouraging, reinforcing the idea of never. Never will I ever... Never Never have I ever... Never can I ever... Never would I ever... Never ever. Never ever. Never ever ever. Well, I will love you forever, too. © 2012 Evangeline Allyson Monroe |
