A Different Kind Of Warrior

A Different Kind Of Warrior

A Poem by Evangeline Allyson Monroe
"

Just a "Stay Strong" type of poem. :)

"

Honesty for a shield,

Valor as the armor,

Abnegation as a sword.

No white steed,

No flowing hair,

No swank castle to go back to,

Or a kingdom at his feet.

His grass is all yellow

From drought and sun;

And his only ride around

Is borrowed from his mom.

Yet he walks without bravado "

Humility fills his saunter "

And he has no ego to speak of.

He is a different kind of warrior.

He fights the yellow grass,

The ever brightening sun;

He fights the pain he feels at home

And everyday at school.

Somber though he is,

And battle wounds mar his arms,

He is a warrior for sure!

As long as he keeps fighting on!

May those kinds of warriors never stop fighting. This is a true testament to those brave enough to face life and conquer their fears. Very nice work!
