The Two Palm Trees

The Two Palm Trees

A Poem by Lord_Shade

There they stand,
Tall and green.
Leaves are close,
Roots may meet,
But barks' apart.
-
One, the lord.
The other, his lady.
Or so i think,
And so I stare,
At the two palm trees.
-
The full moon up;
The stars up high;
The magic of the night;
They feel them all.
With what, I cannot say.
-
Giants amongst dwarves,
Barks harder than skin,
Yet unable to rule.
Dwelling at the mercy
Of a logger's axe.
-
I stand and stare,
Their leaves they touch.
How lonesome it would be.
For one to stand alone.
The two palm trees.

About
There's not really much about me. I took up poetry last year ever since I can't live without writing at least one a day, even if it totally sucks. My preferred genre of story writing is fantasy and I'.. more..
