When the world comes down,
and takes you from your home,

and the good leaves you alone,

When all you worked for is destroyed,
and your dreams are no more,

When you are left unemployed,
and you see no open door,

When fears take full control,
they will destroy all that's dear,
Then, why let fear rule your life?

When misery fills your soul,
it is caused by your fear,
Then, why let fear rule your life?

when you know what it can do,

When you know it wants to kill you.

I'm afraid I have to say the idea of refrain quite didn't work out here, a rather gone-bizarre experiment. I'm saying this only with respect to the refrain 'Why let fear rule your life' and not the first two lines. Infact, the first two lines in all stanzas were intriguing. But the words are so simple and so ultimately, doesn't deliver. Well, I can say the poem was overall nice, and that's it :)

I recommend you use different wording for the verses and end ONLY the last verse with 'Why let fear rule your life' :) For instance,

"When the world comes down,
and takes you from your home,
Why let fear blind your path"

or something like that. Anyways, this is your poem and I was just suggesting. You can always develop by writing more and more. Keep writing :)

Fear ia a very powerfula nd controlling emotion that is sometimes harder to not feel then just feel. We try harder and harder to block out this emotion but at times it has no bounds. Your poem tells us that we can be stronger then fear and not let it rule our life. This is a great poem and I agree with Daydreamer54 this is the most positive we have read of yours.

Nice write that's very meaningful. it;s very true that we shouldn't let fear take over us, we need to block it out. This reminde me of a bible verse, Psalms 27. Great write you have here! the first time i've seen something postive that you've written. :)
