Reflections in the Dark

Reflections in the Dark

A Poem by Shade Teller
"

A random poem.

"
The lights are off,
the stars are shining,
the family's asleep,
the dog is whining.
My steps are low and soft,
as I walk through the halls,
then as I go through that way,
I swear I hear distant calls.
I turn and in the mirror,
is someone staring right at me,
Who is this stranger,
Who could it be?
Though dark it may be,
there's no way it could be me.
No, someone else stands behind,
but no one is there for me to find.
I look back at the mirror,
and as I stand wondering,
I swear I could see,
this strange person take to smiling,
I fling myself back,
and so does he,
But I go back in fright,
But he just takes to mimicking.
I find his manner quite annoying,
I wish he'd go away,
but no matter how long I wait,
He stands and stays.
I see the light switch by the mirror.
Maybe I can find out who is there,
who is always looking at me,
without a word, without a care.
I turn on the light,
and what I see tears me down,
a terrible frightening creature,
a.k.a a creepy clown

I hate creepy clowns!!! Anyways. This poem is quite fun to read. the flow trapped me in and continued to pull me through to the very end. You give us some great imagery and a sense of someone over your shoulder as you read. Even done when half asleep this poem is fantastic.
