A Final Word

A Final Word

A Poem by Shade Teller
"

Words that one rarely gets to say as they pass on.

"
Before the light goes out,
and as the final breath has stirred,
I would like to say one last thing,
My last and final word.

Thank you for this time,
that you never knew you gave me,
thank you for that unselfish love,
that had tried to save me.

There was a moment,
that I could feel darkness leave me,
and be driven to a better place,
wanting to receive me.

But like all good things
This would never last forever,
and these wonderful things for you,
shouldn't have to matter.

The light is going out,
and the final breath has stirred,
But I haven't said what I want to,
My last and final word,
I love you.

I love this poem. It's just so well written, it flows very well. I think what I love the most, though, is the subject. Yet another good job.
